07.25 Saturday Diary

UP 01:00,  pee, and eat some ice cream....

UP 08:00.  Dressed, and a bit annoyed that the others in the house (four) had gone to breakfast without us.
I made a phone call to a local company that we use, find out how much for a ride from them from here to MSY...  they would charge slightly more than one leg of the plane flight from LAX to HOU.
Never mind...
When they returned, I asked Dad to borrow a car so that WE could go eat, and he offered to take us, so Merry and I went with him to the local Waffle House for breakfast.
The noise in the restaurant.... OMG.   
Returned home, started packing.
Aunt B had an early afternoon flight out of Gulfport,  So I got in the car with Aunt C to take her there.
We got her checked in, and I marveled several times how small this airport was.
She went on her way, and we returned home, stopping to take pictures of a VFW tribute to veterans, done by putting names on red bricks and planting them.  Dad had paid for one with his late oldest brother's name on it, and another for himself.
We returned home,  ate a little.
I printed boarding passes  We finalized packing.
Merry, Aunt C, Dad driving, me in the car 15:11 for an 18:20 departure.
We were curbside, 16:37, and sadly said our Good byes.
Our bag checked, we were inside waiting for a wheelchair person, 1644.
We went through security 17:05, and at the gate 17:25.
We boarded 18:00 and were enroute 1820.
Arrived HOU 19:23.   
We were 'scheduled' to leave there 20:20, arrive LAX 21:45 Pacific.
BUT   SHOCKER ALERT we were delayed.
Found out later, the delay was in them finding a flight attendant crew.
And awaiting the inbound flight for other passengers continuing on this segment.
We boarded 2145, taxied 2157, and were up 22:03.
I read newpapers while She napped, then I put down the papers to do some napping myself.
We arrived LAX 2315,  were met downstairs by a chauffeur who did not see us, because we used the elevator, what with Merry in a wheelchair, and went to baggage, and waited.
In time, our bag arrived, and we went to the car...
And headed home...
And arrived   00:15.
