Scorpio 4: A
CARD GAME
Needed: One die; a Random Number Generator; The
index cards.
There
are 24 cards with implement names.
There
are 14 cards noted in the following as “Other” or “O”.
THE
RNG is used to determine the number of cards drawn, within a range determined
by the participants in prior negotiation.
In
a place where he cannot see Her, She draws the indicated number of cards, one
at a time.
Each
of the O cards are highlighted in yellow, and are ‘free’, meaning She keeps it,
and draws an additional card, regardless of how many of them She draws.
Each
of the O cards has activities written on it, along with the time frame the
activity should take place (before-during-after), and duration of the activity,
dictated by the roll of a die.
Once
She has the proper number of implement cards, She shuffles them face down.
She
checks all O cards in Her possession to see if there are any activities that
should take place before the impact play begins.
Activities
indicated to start ‘before’ should start.
Any
activities that are indicated to occur ‘during’ should take place exactly half
way between implements. i.e. If there will be six implements used, then ‘DURING’
occurs after the 3rd. If
there are 7 implements to be used, then ‘DURING’ occurs after the 4th.
‘After’
means, after all implements have been utilized.
A
die roll determines his position/location, unless determined by an ‘Other’ card
that calls for the C&B Pillory. Two
implements are to be used in each position.
Once
the specific implement is determined, along with position/location, the RNG is
used to determine how many xxxx are
applied, within a range predetermined by the participants in prior negotiation.
He
takes his place, and She applies the indicated number.
She
draws another implement card at random, uses the RNG, and continues.
After
two implements, She rolls the die to determine the next position/location,
which may very well be the same one just used, and She draws a card for
implement, and uses the RNG for #, and continues…
Until
all implement cards have been drawn and used.
Some
of the O cards indicate activities to be done during the impact play, and can
be done simultaneously, order being irrelevant.
Many
O cards indicate activities that cannot be done all at the same time as others,
with some activities to be performed BEFORE the impact play, or DURING the
impact play, or AFTER the impact play, depending on the roll of the die, so the
red number written on the card is a priority number, indicating what should be
done before what.
Thus,
if She holds 3 O cards, and a roll of the die indicates that all are to be
performed BEFORE the impact play, then first comes ‘1’ then ‘2’ and on down the
line.
There
is one and only one card with “Discretionary” written on it.
At the time of drawing it, She can keep it for
play, or set it aside, and not use, at Her discretion.
