1130 taken back... so Merry had to leave, to be called when I was ready
Undressed in a private closet, put on gown, told by male nurse I could retain my incontinence underwear
Led to a bed in pre-or
vital signs checked, went over a check list of meds I've taken
drops in eyes every 15 minutes
Nurse asked if I wanted to take off my ring; I said I couldn't (I probably could, just didn't want to).
She said, "I'll tape it."
I though she said, "I'll take it".
"What do you mean, you'll TAKE it?"
She chuckled, "No TAPE it..." then she smiled, and said, "But it is kinda nice..."
"My wife has one that matches..."
Nurse on my right ..."Awww..."
IV inserted, top of left hand.
Anesthesiologist asked me questions about having anesthesia...Any family history with problems?
Damned if I know
Wheeled into OR (1230)
Enough anesthesia to keep me calm but not put me under.
Big machine with scope put over my left eye.
Told to look straight ahead at the light. Lots of light
Done, back to post op.
Clothes brought to me, curtains closed around the bed, so I could dress, while nurse helped.
Nurse called Merry, said I'd be ready at 1415
Given a pile of post op instructions
wheeled out to curb, Merry waiting 1420
Stopped at McD for iced coffee, home 1445
