about "Freaks and Geeks"
I don't think that Merry and I have discussed this show at all.
Broadcast  1999-2000, it didn't last a full season on NBC.
I've never watched it til now myself.
Now that I've starting watching it...
well, it really does a good job of describing the ANGST of high school days.
There's the jocks, the burn outs, the pot heads,  the kids upwardly mobile, the ones not so much... the kids just trying to fit in somewhere.
One episode completely resonated with me ....
 Gym class...  and one day, the coach announced "The District has passed a rule... everyone must take a shower after class."
The kid that is the lead on the show just ... freaks out about having to shower with other guys.  
After the first class, he rinses his hair in the sink, to try to fool the coach, but gets caught by the coach. But the bell rings, and manages to run off to his next class.
Second day, after the class, he feigns sickness and coach sends him to see the nurse.
Third day, he hides in a bathroom stall, rather than go to gym class.
That night, he talks with his parents, and Dad convinces him, it's really not so bad.
So the next day, he manages to take a shower...with the others.
He goes walking through the locker room, a towel around his waist, and one of the bullies pushes him out the locker room door, into the hallway, and blocks the door.  As the kid pounds on the door, the bully opens the door, and grabs the towel, and yanks it into the locker room, and closes the door, leaving the kid naked on the outside.
The kid pounds on the door, gives up, and remembers "A pair of shorts in my locker". He goes running down the hall, as the bell rings, releasing all the kids into the hallway.
He runs around, through the halls, naked, through the door to the outside, and back into the gym via another door, where the coach is talking to another female gym instructor.  And he makes it back down into the locker room.
He is still feeling embarrassed as after school, he walks home with his friends,  when a jeep full of cheerleaders drives by, and one of them yells, "Hey Sam, hear you streaked the school today! Way to go!"
So he becomes the hero,  for a minute anyway.
ANYWAY, I SO remember the panic I went through, the days before starting 7th grade, knowing that I would have to undress and dress and undress and take a shower in the locker room.  
Total panic. I'm sure I cried about it.
Until ..it actually happened... and I realized...
Hey! Everybody else is undressing and showering and being naked, just like me!  
Then, it was all okay.

Around  1 or so...up to pee, and to get Merry (maybe Sunshine) off the couch to come to bed.
She was watching  Hateful Eight, and turned it on the bedroom tv to continue.  She went right to sleep; I continued watching
Then I watched the last half of "The Expendables"
Then  Dice 2:1, then Episodes  5:01
4 a.m.  sorta trying to go back to sleep... but I think I'd finally had enough
7:00 up.... called Caruso Ford 2 minutes after service department opened, to confirm I could have car towed to them without me riding along...and they would know it was coming. Yeah, okay
Then Called AAA 7:15
Arrived 7:40.   Same guy who towed the car to Caruso last time.
8:45  Merry got a call, saying the car had arrived.
Oscar had told me that they had many appointments for the day, so my hopes weren't very highly placed.
breakfast... buttered tortillas coffee.
On the couch, worked on the spreadsheet on my phone and
watched Dexter 3:10-12, then Suits.
Called Thing 2, see if he could cover my shift coming up in the evening...he said he could...I notified Denny that Thing 2 would be covering.
Lunch...ham n cheese on toast.
Watched two eps of House from season 5.
Watched Money Maker.
Merry went out with #2 son, grocery shopping.
I watched Deep Impact...
I called Caruso, check on car; turns out they had called Joni and told her .... well, they'd get the part tomorrow at 10, and it would be done soon thereafter
Merry...home with groceries, Stitch went down to assist bringing them up.

In bed all day, and feeling very nauseated/queazy/stomach ill

Merry went out shopping with Stitch 
  and after months of us having problems with the ignition  (ie turning the key but it not starting, until finally the car does start)
It gave out while they were in some grocery story parking lot.
After some waiting and hoping that it would start...it didn't and Merry had it towed  home.

I was supposed to work 2nd shift the next day, but I notified Denny that  for one, I did not feel well, and for another, our car was busted, and I could only get to work if I Ubered or Lyfted.
A few minutes later, he told me via text, to not sweat it, he had it covered.

I got out of bed long enough to read the Thursday LA Times... well, the comics page, 
  and dinner...  fried egg n cheese n bacon on toast.

And back to bed

So, if the evening was not 'so' bad, after midnight was a bitch.
Phone calls, screwed up ride in Vancouver,  major VIP that I was supposed to 'follow' in Dublin, where things went awry....
And the 1st morning rez agent who is supposed to be in at 0500 but rarely gets in by 515, usually by 530... called in at 0600 saying he just woke up, and the rez agent scheduled for 6 came in at 611, and I stayed with the morning dispatcher until a rez agent did arrive.

Around 1200, Sunshine n I discussed going to the Hello Kitty store about a mile away, but decided to let that happen as a first-thing-morning some Saturday.
