Friday Oct 28th Diary

at work
Watched  TWW 7:14 and 7:15.
"Thing 2" was working along side me, scheduled til 02:30; while Al and his trainee were working in the big room.   
I expected a nutso morning at home.... anticipating taking Stitch to work if it rained, then Merry to  PT....so when Thing 2 offered to finish my shift, I accepted.
Out 2:41
Home 3:18.
Dinner consisted of finished off the frying pan of rice that was on the stove, and reading Thurs' paper.
I slept in the easy chair in the living room, til Stitch woke me up around 6, saying, 'No rain, I'm biking it to work' and so I moved.
7:45 UP.
Helped Sunshine get ready

Arrived at the Lakewood address around 8:30.
We went in, checked in, filled out paperwork.
Left around 10.
Stopped at MC's because she wanted a pie,  then at Von's.  
Home, 11:ish.
She bought 3 selfie-salads, and I ate the 1/2 of one that she didn't, with chips. and we watched TRMS from Thursday.
12:30 to sleep

Thursday Oct 27th Diary

at work
Quiet...notable in that the trainee with Al took off on another 45 minute lunch (on his 5 hour shift)...
Watched  TWW 7:5--11.
At 5:50, a VERY reliable driver called in saying "my alarm didn't go off"  (bullpucky... alarms don't decide to not go off. He didn't set it, or he set it for p.m. or he slept through it) so he wasn't going to get to base in time to get an car and get to Rosemead by 7:20.
That was an easy fix.  Had another driver sitting around waiting for 8:15. So I sent that one, and gave the over sleeper the 8:15 job.
By 06:00, Samuel, the morning dispatcher ..and I, came to the conclusion that the guy who had a 6:30 pick up downtown was NOT waking up, as both of his known cell numbers were going to voice mail. So we decided to send a driver with a 7:00 job in Westchester, to the 6:30. Sent a driver who had a 7:30 in Malibu to the 7:00,  and sent a driver who had something much later to the 7:30.   
Later, Samuel sent me a text, saying that the MIA driver woke up and called in at 6:55.

UP 14:00, and Merry told me, she got a text from mortgage guy, saying he would call around 17:00
I couldn't get to sleep after that.
Well, I know I did because of weird dreams... one that involved being on the 110 freeway, and it coming to an end at the top of some dirt hill, with no path to get down.   I got out to walk and look around, returned to look for the car, which I couldn't find, then my dad came along and started to help me look, and he looked inside one of the parked cars on the freeway, and said, "Oh it's a bomb, and I hear it ticking..."
Another dream was at the office of MusicEx...   with a coffee kiosk as you walk in, then to the left was a huge combo reservations/dispatch center.

I had told Denny, that if THIS Thursday was anything like LAST Thursday, which was a sh*tstorm because of the amount of work to get covered, due to the idiocy and incompetency of the lead dispatcher who works Thurs--Sunday, I would turn around and walk out.
I entered, and before logging in, I looked over "Thing 1's" shoulder, and saw that every job for the night was either tagged on a driver or dispatched out. 
Serenity prevails.
I checked our accounts online.... update my diaries....

at work:
My coworker Al has a trainee this week with new guy-Josh.
At one point, around 04:00 Josh disappeared for what seemed like 45 minutes.... on a five hour shift.  I didn't ask him where he went, nor do I think Al asked him.
Watched TWW 6:11 -- 15, started 16.
Yawning my head off, out 5:41

Merry was wide awake, sitting in her chair, 'reading' her phone.
I fed the animals.
MDM  leftover stir-fry, and t-chips.

Too tired to continue, I nodded off 07:00
Slept through til about 12:30 til I had to get up to pee.

Then across the street to Winco, because she wanted more linguisa...

On the 101 north of the 110 junction, at one point the freeway was so EMPTY, I yelled out, "Where is everybody?"
As I exited SMB, I could see the cars,  their brakelights on the freeway, just ahead of me.
I arrived 18:58...and clocked in 19:15.

Sunday October 23rd Diary

The washing machine was non-op; the switch that closes the door was not functioning...
I was sitting in chair with coffee, when Dad called... 08:45
We discussed my upcoming birthday...but I couldn't go anywhere, with Merry in current condition, and I couldn't leave her alone, unable to drive.  He said he would 'send a check'.  He also said, he is now engaged..
Stitch and I gathered laundry
And set off to a laundry mat
The one we went to had a full parking lot, but plenty of machines, so I parked on a side street and went in.
I selected a machine ... 6 loader for $4.50.  We fed it, and started it. It showed 35 minutes to run, so I sat down with the Sunday times, while Stitch sat down to read the voters' pamplet re the upcoming initiatives.
Soon enough, the washer was done; we loaded the car and returned home   ... 11:10
We took the stuff into the back yard, and Stitched started a first load in dryer.
I sat in chair to finish the paper.

Sunshine  reminded me, it was my chore to cut up the meat sometime soon for the evening dinner of stir fry.
I said, this was the first I was ever hearing about it.
She got mad, and stomped off to the bedroom to cry, with Stitch listening.
After I finished the paper, I got up  and went into the kitchen and proceed to cut up the meat.
The first load from the dryer was ready, and Stitch and I separated it and folded it and put it away, and he started the second load.
In BR2, we three watched Scorpion, then Lucifer.
Second/final load was dry, and Stitch and I separated it and folded it and put it away.
We watched  Agents of Shield; American Horror Story; Rocky Horror Picture Show.
And started dinner.... which started with me slicing up two onions, one green and one red bell pepper.
I left the combining and cooking to Sunshine.
We watched  Better Things.
Dinner was ready... we ate while watching 
The Circus.
I called it a night:  22:30.

Denny and the ops manager who schedules res-agents don't seem to communicate.... so Denny had Al coming in at 0100 as usual, but the res schedule had him working Friday 1500 to 2000 .... (guess who was right?)  and my other associate, Thing 2, worked from  16:00 to 02:30.
Watched Stud60  1-17 ... 1-22, finishing the season and series.

Merry got herself ready, and we were in car  8:40, taking her to Orthopedic appointment.
There, the news was... she has a 'frozen shoulder' and needs physical therapy... three times a week  (as we found out later, at $60 a visit).

Vons... to deposit money at the WF inside, while looking at grocery prices.

6:15  woken by Stitch, who said it was raining.
Which meant, I needed to drive him to work.

Merry did not know I had left until I mentioned it to here when I woke up again.

MISERABLE traffic on Del Amo heading west.
Long time turning left from 223rd onto Normandie.
Arrived his workplace 1535. He came out 5 minutes later.
Decided to forgo Del Amo and take 223rd east towards home.
Came to a dead stop somewhere between Lucerne and Wilmington.
Waited and waited..
Watched a bunch of cars giving up, and making u turns to go the other way.
I did so, and in so doing, I could see the train in the distance, stopped on the tracks, keeping traffic stopped.
I had other options but I was annoyed, enough so that I drove back to Figueroa, turned right, and soon got on the 110 North,  then  the 91 east.... 710 S and off at LBB and home  16:22
Sat in easy chair to snooze for about an hour...
Then Adam called. Or Merry called Adam, and then brought the phone in to me.
I talked to him until 17:00.

Every night  This station has a "Name the year" contest, where they mention 4 events (tv shows, movies, top record) and you call into a number to state the year, and if you're first, you win.
This was one case I would've or might have won. I mean I knew the answer.  (What year was the first year of 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' on t.v.?)  But the prize was tickets to Roger Waters (doing Pink Floyd) at Staples, later this year.  So, if I won, I could not/would not go.  AH well.
At work 19:11. 
Such a slow/quiet night, I checked the calendar to see if it was another Jewish holiday (no it wasn't).  
Started Filter #1.
Started on  "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip."  Began EP 1.
It lasted one season, 22 eps.

Wednesday October 12th Diary

Car 6:24.   Heard on KNX about some pile up near the 5/710 interchange so I took 101 to 110 S to 91 E.
Off at LBB; saw the Price of gas  at the Arco, $2.50; still $2.46 at the Sinclair.

MDM  pulled pork on sopas; chips; trail mix.
Watched TRMS--Tues.
8:45  Sleep.
9:45 up to pee
13:00 awakened by acid reflux
1710 up and moving...
Toilet... showered n dressed...
Prepped...  
Was early so sat in living room chair to close my eyes...and so Merry came in trying to chat with me... oh well
Kissed her good bye and out
Car 18:05 .    Very light traffic,  at work 18:55.
Quiet night... but stressy because of airport problems.
One driver was meeting an arrival scheduled 18:57  It landed, but didn't get to a gate until 19:40.  Driver met the client..and they waited and waited for bags.  Passenger grew tired of waiting, gave the driver claim tix and took an Uber to hotel.  Driver did not collect bags until 23:00 and dropped them at 23:35.   So much for the plans we had for him.
That and other things finally got sorted out, the activity sorted out.
Except for a big problem in Munich.  Client arrived on a flight into Munich at 7:30 am but the job was sent to our affiliate there who entered the time as 14:00, and our res agent checked off the confirmation they sent back to us as correct.  So that was a snafu, which my co-worker handled ...most of.   He was on the phone with the German affiliate, while I was fielding constant calls from the booking agent, wondering what the hell was the problem getting this car to this Grammy-winning producer.
Moving on...  
Once Den left at 23:30 I fielded one other phone call, up until my next co worker came in at 01:00.

A bit miffed that Stitch was in the shower....  I assumed he knew not to shower during the hour I'm getting ready for work...
So, fed the animals...prepped...
He got out, I got in
Showered...
Heard a 'thunk'
Sunshine yelled..."Daddy!  Shilo!"
Stitch went in, and continued drying and dressed.
Stitch knocked on bathroom door, said, "Sunshine wanted you to know, she fell over..."
"Okay," I said, thinking it was taken care of.
Once ready, I exited the bathroom into the BR.
The easy chair was still on its back..she had been sitting in chair, gone too far backwards, the chair toppled over....long ago I had put a dining room folding chair behind that chair, to prevent just that from happening, but some idiot ...or large dog...had moved the chair.
So the chair was on its back; she was sitting on the floor; Stitch was just ... moving stuff, like to get it out of her way.
I extended a hand, she took it, and I pulled her upright.
And sat her down in a folding chair that was opposite facing the easy chair. I pulled the easy chair upright, but the fold out foot rest was extended, and came down hard on her right knee, and she began yelling and crying.
I managed to get her calm down with the help of a bag-of-frozen-peas-ice-pack on the knee, and she sat down in the easy chair, and I carefully replaced the chair behind her.
I kissed her good bye and departed.
IN car 18:12 and drove in the opposite direction, to the 7-11 at Del Amo, in pursuit of e-cig filters.  I bought two-in-a-pack, and started on one.  
Price of gas  $2.46
On to the office, arrived  19:21.
Not much to do, other than watch drama with Sprinter rides. Had a driver doing a 2030 pick up at Dodger Stadium going for a 15 min ride to 2 hotels down town,  and his next job was 23:45 in WeHo.
Those guys did not board until 2315!
In the meantime my associate found, at 23:00, an affiliate to do the 23:45 job. 
I'm too old for this shit.

Watched TWW  6:17 -22.
"Thing 2" left at 02:30  leaving me along as AL had been diverted from a graveyard shift to be used during the day today, in the absence of a couple other agents.
However, nothing to speak of  happened...it remained quiet.
Out 06:00.

Straightened up the living room. Used desktop to check on finances.
MDM  Pot roast, muffins n cheese.
NO TRMS from Thursday as it was all weather bulletins.   Started to watch  "Geeking out" but it was all about  "The Walking Dead" so deleted it.  Watched the debate skit from SNL instead.
