Working 43 rides for Sunday, looking at 39 for Monday
Oh my.
Slow is usually nice n easy, BUT
Too slow, and drivers get lazy, saying, 'can I just take the day off' and it becomes hard to cover what work there is...
And I know from long experience, when it's slow, we dispatchers pay less attention, start looking at other things, and
mistakes happen.
Fingers crossed....
Predictably, stupid stuff happened.
A couple ..three... 'asap' requests. No big deal, we covered 'em well enough.
Then some guy arrived at LAX ... 23:00..and called, "Where's my car?"
We looked up the order... he took a flight from DFW to LAX, and our crack team of reservation agents...well, one of 'em... assigned the ride to our DFW affiliate! At least two other agents viewed the ride after that. Because it was farmed 'out of town' it was not on the LA dispatch screen, so we had no idea..until he called.
Got him picked up within 20 minutes of his call, but still, the drama should not have happened.
Other than that, an easy Sunday night of catching up on diaries, and looking at other porn.
Now, on to Monday... my usual overnight helper was given the holiday off. First rez agent is not scheduled in until 09:00.
I'm hoping to 'sneak' out at 05:30 so as to come back to work at 17:30.
I wish we had a couch... this would be so fine on a 'yes day'.
