I loaded an app on his phone called Citymapper, and I hope he can figure out how to use it.
Merry and Stitch went out, to the bank, the library ..where they did not have the tax forms yet..then the market.
I went through a pile of mail, while watching
Oz 3:7 & 8
Oz 4: 1 & 2.
By which time they returned home.
Merry began prepping dinner.
  which included potatoes au gratin.
  which meant,  Slicing the potatoes.
  which meant, she did 80% of the slicing on the grater then had one small chunk left to slice that she asked me to do with a knife.
Mission accomplished, I went to take a nap, until called for dinner.

Called for dinner... pork chops and cheezy potatoes.
I ate at the table, rather than in the bedroom.
I took my contacts out and put on my glasses.
After dinner, I went straight to bed.

I went into the kitchen to do so, and turned around, without looking down.
I got my left leg caught under Donna, who had snuck in behind me, and I tripped over her, landing hard on my right foot, and judging by the pain, probably re-injuring it to some extent.
I limped back to the bedroom.
Watched 'Unforgettable' 1:12.
They came home.... Merry served up baked chicken, and quesadillas.
Watched 'Unforgettable' 1:13, the end of the season as it has appeared on A&E, which ended on a nasty cliffhanger.

Kind of a tough night, got started watching my stories late...
OZ 2: 7 & 8. 
My morning relief was SW, not one of the regular guys.. 
I've been relieved by him before, all he does is look through all the orders, leaving me to answer every phone call, right up to when I leave... including one that would have been handled by a res-agent, had one come in on time, but he didn't ..again...so I had to deal with finding  ASAP an SUV or van to go from some hotel in Boston to some office not in Boston.  I managed, wasn't a big deal, but was something that should have been handled by a res-agent, had one been here on time...

Called Merry to come n get me... 0515.
She arrived.

Sunshine went back to bed while I assembled MDM: 
  Roasted chicken, from last night... rice...  last of the leftover sweet-potato-special ... chips.
And in BR1, watched TRMS  from Tuesday night.

#1 made a rare appearance at the house, around  17:00.
Strange that it's so rare, since he ostensibly lives in the garage...  
But I'm assuming that he lives out of MY car, in between his jobs.
Having him here  just brings on all sorts of stress for me....  I feel anger,  my heart rate jumps, I can feel my BP increase....
His idea of paying rent has been to give Merry fifty bucks every now and then (the last time was before Christmas) and he has had free use of my car for three months... like since my accident, and I haven't been driving at all.
Merry worked on a 'new plan'
I got up and showered and got ready...
18:07 in car  without Stitch, so She and I could talk..
 We talked about this new plan involving Bullfrog...
It's a big question of whether he will go along with it any better than he's gone along with previous plans....

Another huge event going on .... the premiere for "The People vs OJ Simpson" which starts on t.v. on 2/2. 
Not much to say about today, even though there's 124 rides for today...   mostly LATER.

January 25th, Monday, (92 days)

Watched "Oz"  1: 1, 2, 3, 4 ....
Called Merry, shortly after 05:00 ...
Despite some traffic disturbance, She arrived at the office 0550
I clocked out, and

I fed the cats, and the two dogs...  (we have a houseguest, as when Coco visited, the day before,  she left her white mid-size dog behind for 'about a month'.)
Prepped MDM ....  leftover Bean Soup, and warmed tortillas with butter.
Went to the bedroom, to watch the premiere of "The X Files".
SO....the Fox broadcast of the NFC conference final game ran long, so "The X Files"  started about 30 minutes later than planned, and my DVR did not record through the whole show, but just the half hour remaining of the time slot.  
Well.... Merry found that the whole show is available on-demand, but fast forwarding is not available when watching on-demand.
I'd have to rewatch the half of the show I just saw to be able to see the second half.
Fuck that.

I fetched some chips to chomp, and so She's having something to eat with Her nightly meds...
And to sleep, or trying to,  03:00.
I wasn't wired exactly, but sleep was not coming easily....which was probably understandable considering how much I slept on Saturday.

Ten-ish, kind of awake, when She woke up and started again on Oz, with 2:4, 2:5, and maybe 2:6 as I was getting ready, starting about 13:30

Only '89' going for today, and my supervisor was in, in place of KW, using his floating holiday.
105 to deal with on Monday, but it was a mess.
Way too many 'hourlies' or 'wait and returns' for the number of available drivers I have, so I wound up farming more rides than I covered with my own drivers.

I heard from DB that our old friend, ex dispatcher/supervisor MT had told DB that she would be dropping in to visit this coming week....(and maybe inquire about a job...)
and that we have a hybrid dispatcher/reservationist in training, with the plan for him of working both ... hours 0100 to 0600 Monday-Friday.  

Moving on....

Watched episode 2 of "The Circus..." starting at 23:30 .....  

January 23rd, Saturday, Diary (90 days)

Finished The Newsroom 1:9, then continued with 1:10, and 2:7, 8, 9, then 3:6.
My relief, DB arrived... oh  0540.
I called Merry at 0500, and enroute to me, She got stuck behind some clusterf*ck on the 101 just above the 5, and arrived 6:15.
So, out 6:20 and in car 6:25.
We eschewed using the 101 on the way home, and took La Brea to the 10 .... stopping at a supermarket on the way.
Home, 07:13

I fed the animals that were begging.
And fixed my own MDM ... leftover chicken and sweet potato special, and watched Friday's  TRMS.

0800 sleep..
and sleep and sleep...
 as I wasn't feeling well.
I joked that I was catching the cold that two of the cats seems to have, which I believe is not possible, but I had minor symptoms...congestion and a head ache.
I passed on having the dinner that Merry was fixing,  Bean soup.
And when I did get up, just mildly hungry, I ate bag of popcorn.
Not the bag, just the freshly popped popcorn.
And watched t.v. 
 Only slightly awake, I noticed She was watching 'Oz'.  
She had started from the beginning with 1:1, and was up to about 1:7 when I started watching with Her..and we watched 1:8, then 2:1 ................................................  (past midnight).....

Merry woke up during the Pretenders concert....
We watched Elementary again, so She could see it.
Then we watched a Rush concert...

When DB sent me a text, saying The Other Overnight Guy was having painful issues with a hernia, and could I cover the shift tonight?
First thing Merry said was, "You DID sleep all day?"
Kind of what I was thinking, so I sent him a text back, and said, I would come in.
So, up...I told Stitch and #4 that I got called in to work, so... #4 could plan to be coming along as co pilot.
I started to get ready, and was surprised to see that Stitch had decided to go into the shower...ahead of me.
So...I had to wait.
He came out, I went in...
Toilet...shower...dressed.
Contacts IN.   Collar ON (around my neck, first time in ....?)
Ready and out...

DB stopped by the office to get his car after having been to the gym at the end of his shift, and asked me, "For your other floater, how about Super Bowl Sunday?"

And Merry told me, She had to go get #4 from HB tonight, after dinner.and bring him to the house, for an early next morning Dr.
I spoke to Stitch, who volunteered to go as co pilot.

Dinner... pork and rice.
I made yet another personal notebook change.
Merry and Stitch headed out to get #4.  
I watched "Law n Order SVU" from 9 to 10.

Anybody know what was in the briefcase?
Looked at viewing options on Showtime and HBO, and settled on Old reliable, watched The Newsroom 1: 2 and 3.
Called Merry around 5:25.
She arrived 6:10.
In car 6:19
Stopped for a tank of gas at the cheap Arco near the house ($2.69) and home, 7:09.
Fed the cats, and the Dawg, and prepped MDM ... the last of leftover beef stew, along with heated tortillas & peanut butter, and butter on (GF)raisin toast...  
And to BR1 to watch  TRMS from Monday.

14:30 up to pee, then take in some ice cream.
17:10 up again to stay.
...Alka seltzer.... toilet.... undressed out of sleep clothes, dressed in work clothes.
A pounding on the door got my attention; I went and opened it.
Two men stood outside, trying to sell me a house security system.
Donna stood beside me, looking, but didn't say a word the whole time, including during the door-pounding.
Whatta watch dog.
The slightest noise from outside, like a 'POP' from a backfire or a firecracker or lightning, and she goes berserk, runs out into the back, and runs around the pool barking...   but a knock on the door does nothing to excite her, nor does anybody coming in or out of the door.  We come home in the morning...she hardly looks up from whatever chair she's napping in.  When Stitch gets home from work, she doesn't even wake up, when she's sleeping on the bed next to me.   
 However, go into the kitchen and rattle a bag of chips,  and she is instantly alert.
So... dressed and ready to go.

Traffic had returned to its fucked up state of normal, so

108 rides, final for Tuesday, & starting Wednesday with 90. So nothing major, but some tangles to straighten out.  

January 18th, Monday, 85 days

At work, after midnight...
Watched Dexter 8: 8-9-10-11, and decided to hold of on watching 12, the finale,  until I could watch it with Merry  (as She had earlier asked me to do, and I had at first, adamantly and petulantly, said "No I wanna finish it at work!".  Well, realizing that was rather selfish and childish,  and it really was a simple thing She asked me to do, I changed my mind.  And I let Her know, by text, during our all-night WWF move exchanges, that I would hold off on watching #12 until I could watch it with Her.
So I watched the new Showtime show, "Circus" which has very little to do with Barnum & Bailey, but rather is a documentary following the campaigns of the slew of candidates currently running for POTUS. 
It's only a thirty-minute commercial-free program, and I watched it twice through, due to interruptions while watching it the first time.
I called Merry, who had been awake, and exchanging WWF game plays with twenty other people and myself, since 2300 last night, around 05:25....  and in part, due to the very light holiday traffic, arrived at the office at 06:10.
I was in car with Her at 6:19, and we were home at 6:48.
I fed the cats, leaving Donna to be fed by Stitch, who was home, off work for the holiday, but still asleep, while Merry put together some glutin-filled treat for Her and Stitch for breakfast,  and I heated up leftover meatloaf, with a bunch of warmed buttered tortillas for MDM,  and we went off to the bedroom, and watched last night's Democratic debate.

1200 awake, up long enough to pee

1500 awake again, up long enough to pee.

Shortly thereafter, Merry came in from where She had been sitting in the living room, and as soon as She got comfortable on the bed, Her phone rang, and She engaged in an overly long convo with HLB.   And that was the end of my sleeping.
1645 upright.... alka seltzer...  toilet...shower...dressed...
boot on foot...  a jug of  RedBull and ginger ale, along with a skinny thermos of left over coffee that I figured to take to the office and reheat...  Caught up on email and WWF, before saying to the two of them, "Let's go," at  18:05

18:50 at the office.   24.5 miles in 41 minutes.  Wow.

Finishing Monday with  102, starting Tuesday with 101, so not a whole lot to do.
Other than exchanging WWF plays with my associate at work, KW, and with Merry.

Watched Dexter  7: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

Call from a UK number, a woman trying to 'book a car for tomorrow' Did not have an account, so I told her, she could book on the website.
Same woman called back, ten minutes later, and had the name of an actual account.  But she was not on the three-name authorized list. I told her...use the web site.
An affiliate driver doing a 4:30 job.  'We' usually call to check on them...make sure they're up , awake, heading for the job, just like we do our own drivers...  I tried this guy's number twice.... no answer, no voicemail... on the 3rd try, some guy answered, I said, Luis? and he said, 'Wrong number.'  So I had to do some research, and figured out, my smart-as-a-whip associate KW, had input the phone by one wrong digit.   I called the correct number, got the answer I wanted...he was on location for pickup.
0420... client called to confirm an 04:30 in suburban Seattle... a ride that I showed as cancelled, earlier in the day. He was the opposite of thrilled.
The morning dispatcher was 25 min late.  Shortly after he arrived, I called Merry to come n get me.

My first a.m. ride was 02:30, which I had 'farmed', followed by another in GOLETA at 03:15, which I farmed....
Chauffeurs still calling 'clear' at 02:00, 02:30, 03:00....   
Merry called to say, She fell asleep earlier, but 'good night for now' at 03:00.  I apologized to Her for my part in the Sunday morning miscommunication.
I watched Dexter 6:4, twice through, because the phones were still busy ...leftover from the show last night...

Awake a couple times off and on, up to pee
awake 10:30... Merry had just finished watching "Get Shorty" and was starting on "Pulp Fiction"/
I told Her, I did not want to watch it at that particular moment, but She said, that She did... 
I said, "Then I'll go to the living room to sleep."
Which was meant to be a hint to Her to either turn it off, or go to the other bedroom Herself, but She didn't catch it..
I went into the living room, and into an easy chair...saw that Stitch was sitting at the desktop computer, so I went into his bedroom, and stretched out on the bed, and he helpfully came up and closed the door, to prevent an 80 pound pit bull from coming in and jumping on the bed to join me.
I half dozed until 12:45...

Coffee....

Told Sunshine, who was now 'out' to get ready....

Huge night.
I started out doing next day's set up.  Not much there... other than early rides, hard to cover because so many of our chauffeurs were at the show, and I had no idea when they would be finished.  
Then at 1930, I had to move 'in' and become part of dealing with the night work.  All the rides had been dispatched, but after a show like this, the challenge is often getting clients  together with their chauffeurs again.  ...
That, and taking calls from the affiliates doing our jobs, took up most of my night ..and my associate, KW, who stayed past his usual quitting time of 23:30 ....on to 01:30...to assist.

January 7th, Thursday, 74 days

06:00 up, raining, Stitch needed a ride to work, so Merry and I got up, and the three of us went...
and returned...
Fed all the animalls...back to bed.
10:39 up... pee and snack.
back to bed...
15:30 up awake, Merry was rushin' to go get Stitch...
16:00 UP to watch the Trump thing in NH, where his group gave out 20,000 tix for an event at a venue that seats 1,400...
watched all that through TRMS  to 19:00
Then  "S.V.U"
Then TBBT and Life in Pieces...
then American Horror Story,

January 6, Wednesday, Diary... 73 days

Watched Dexter 2:8
The work program was shut down at 00:20 for a reboot.
I got one call at 00:45 for a car at 3:30. My best late night driver was coming in thinking he was done, but was happy to stay out for this one.
Watched Dex 2:9, 10, 11, 12, 3:1, 2, 3, 4, and 1\2 of 5.
Merry arrived, in car 8:19, and home 9:07.
Fed em all, then MDM chicken and rice, and watched TRMS from Tuesday.
Sleep 11:00

Up 1800, watched TRMS, Scorpion, finished Dexter 3:5, then 3:6, 7.
Dinner meatloaf and chips
Watched Dexter 3:8, 9.......

at work, watching Dexter...
 Season 2,  2...3...4..5...6..7...8.
Merry arrived for me at 06:20.
06:26 in car,  and home  07:11
Fed the noisy cats and the big dog...
Fixed MDM, leftover chicken She made last nice, and rice, and warmed tortillas...
In the bedroom, we watched the last half of "Unforgettable" and started Monday's TRMS before I fell asleep....   08:30

14:00 awake when I heard Merry and Babyman talking loudly, and leaving the house...
  Lotsa rain, and the power in the house went out... 
Half awake and asleep the next two ours...
I heard them return...
The power came back on...
Stitch came in from work...
I got up 1700ish, Stitch was inside, but not Merry and Babyman.
I asked him; he said, they were still sitting out in the car.
I called her on the phone, and they came inside.
Alka seltzer...  showered, dressed....
18:00 in car
At the office, incredibly 18:46.

Work..work...work..
a busy night, a much busier set up for tomorrow, which is the People's Choice Awards.

And, I was warned, our Systems Administrator was going to shut off our dispatch/reservations server to do a reboot sometime tonight....

07:00 Up .. and noticed that She was watching 'Dexter' ...had started from the beginning, Season 1.   
 I woke up enough to watch with Her.
 Stitch served coffee in bed to us.
 I fetched the two newspapers and read 'em in bed, while watching.
I went to poop, several times.
We watched through Episode 8, before stopping to get (me) ready.
Showered and shaved and dressed and pooped and packed.
Merry, Babyman, and me, in car 14:37.
We stopped at a 7-11, so I could get a pack of refills for my e-cig, which had run out, sometime during my shift, between midnight and 0800, on Wednesday.
At work   15:32.

95 rides for Sunday,  70 for Monday.
Most of Sunday's was night work, with folks coming home from wherever,  and Monday's work seemed to be grouped densely in the same hours.  Too much farming/outsourcing.
And the mid-shift guy, who is supposed to work 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. said he came in early, for what reason, I don't know, other than to be able to leave early, and left at 18:00.
I had the next day work done, but this meant, I had to start paying attention to the night work.  The associate working still with me at the time, KW, is a good enough guy, but when it comes to dispatching like this, he is a dope, plain and simple.

January 4th, Monday Diary

at work...
watched Dexter, season 1,  9-12
got a little frustrated with work calls.... 
Such as one, shortly after 05:00, when a res agent is supposed to be here, except that this one is NEVER on time...
  I felt like it was five minutes on the phone with this booker...which ended with... her inability to find the credit card to book the order on, and she said, "I'll call you back" and hung up.
I called Merry, like ten minutes earlier than I would usually, and said, "Come n get me."
She responded quickly.
IN car with Her, 06:12.  
We stopped for gas at the Arco on LBB which seems like the cheapest in the two counties.  
Home 06:52.
We fed the animals.  
ANd started on MDM ...  I went leftover BEP n ham... but there wasn't any. All gone.
Which kinda ticked me off.
I settled on opening a can of beef stew, topped it with left over rice, and heated up some tortillas.
We went into BR1, and started on an episode of "Unforgettable".
I finished MDM,  and fell asleep before the episode ended.

I'm not sure if I woke up at anytime before, until I woke up at 15:30.
After getting up to pee, I tried to go back to sleep...
17:00 up....

12:00 up...  TV on, coffee...
  watched  Kansas State -- Arkansas..

Moved into the living room.
 Sunshine had been up for some time, was in the easy chair in the corner, in the living room, playing WWF on her phone.

I opened the box to a card game I had, and 'had had' in my possession, for quite some time  (years).
Now seemed like a good time, since it was a game of cards, with letters printed on them, and each person tries to form words out of the cards/letters they have.

I sat, and played nearly a full game, three-handed by myself, to familiarize myself with the rules...
Then I suggested to Sunshine, and Stitch, to 'get over here!'.
And we played... and played...
I'd have to count the score sheets to be sure, but  six games? eight games? maybe ten? 
Around nine, we stopped.
Dinner, for me, pulled pork on tortillas.
In the bedroom, 
 and I watched "Secrets of US National Monuments" on some History channel ... something I could watch, that I wouldn't care if I went to sleep in the middle of...
which I did, 2300 or so.

The firecracker noises started outside,  and Donna started running around barking... and Merry increased the dosage of benadryl She was giving her.

We watched the season finale of 'Dexter'
Then the last 20 minutes of "Young Frankenstein"
Then "The Newsroom" 1:2 
Then we got up to open a bottle of sparkling white grape juice to toast in the New Year........

Watched 'Sports Night'  2: 7 -- 13.
Could not get '14' to load
Watched 2: 15-22, completing season 2, and completing the full run of the series.

Started on MDM... no idea what it was, since it's now  four days later, and I did not write down whatever it was...
None of my/our usual series on DVR available to watch during 'rerun season'.   Plenty of movies on the DVR, and someday, I might get to some of them...
So we watched "The Honeymooners" movie from 2005, which was 1/4 of the way in.
